Do You Know Where You're Headed When You Leave Home ? Empty Do You Know Where You're Headed When You Leave Home ?

Post  pistole Thu Jan 24, 2008 10:05 am

- usually , aku tak tahu mana destination.

- jadi , just ride , ikut suka.

- maybe this will complicate an "organised" ride ... Very Happy

.

- recently hooked up with a group of HD riders here in JB.

- but they displayed a couple of bad traits , which were :-

(a) riding their big-bikes the same way the rempits ride their kapchais , and

(b) leaving people behind.

- have always "learnt/been taught/drilled/scolded" from bicycling
days that no one gets left behind. If there's a "new guy" along,
then the member who brought the "new guy" , MUST ENSURE THAT
the "new guy" is never "dropped".

.

- anyhow , maybe a Saturday early morning ride , boleh ?

- on Thaipusam holiday , aku bawak dari rumah ke Kulai , lepas tu pakai jalan
Kulai ke Seelong , Seelong ke Kempas , dan ikut Kempas highway (nse) balik
ke JB. Sepatutnya nak pergi Waterfalls , tapi last-last , moto tukar haluan
sendiri .. haha ... aku ikut je lar !!

- dari Seelong Ke Kempas , the "B" roads are super-duper ... dulu main keta,
biasa 'testing' kat jalan ni.

Very Happy

cheers.

Don't be surprise cause we have people like that too in here. Hahahahaha, but we try not not encourage it. The most we can do is to have a 2 man team rather than leaving one behind. No Man Gets Left Behind, I hope that would be our Motto for all of the riders here.

- hi Barren.

- benda ni is complicated pasal when we're on the bike , takder
communication at all (handphone , etc).

- jadik , if you drop someone , and the destination/rest-point
belum agreed , susah. Susah for the person being dropped lah,
that is.

.

cheers.

A very good point to discuss!

Some of us ride for for leisure, so whether we got left behind is no big problem. However, if we decide to ride to a destination which is quite far (again subjective your honour Laughing ) say JB/KL, then we have to agree as where are the refuelling/rest/check points. This is to ensure that all will arrive safely. If someone does not arrive at 1st point say Macap after more than 75 minutes, whereas the usual ride will take 45minutes, then something is not right. For konvoi, it would be a different game altogether, but we dont like the idea of having marshall, its dangerous and we just like to blast off or ride at our own pace.

Say we have a breakfast ride to Tg Balau, on the way back it would be a good practice to regroup at Petronas before Kota Tinggi, shake hands and go our separate ways. Another way we practice is to sms to the rest saying that we have safely arrived home.

Do You Know Where You're Headed When You Leave Home ? Empty Re: Do You Know Where You're Headed When You Leave Home ?

Well, like we somtimes does, is to create a checkpoint where we all stops and regroup. Once that is done, than only we move on. For example like the ride home after Pendas where Scid got left behind. One more thing, I notice that some of us sometimes doesn't pay enough attention of what the group is going to do. So this time I advise us all including me to double check that everybody knows where the group is going.

Plus that, Ecik, notice that when we are going to Pendas, Gelang Patah. We did not use the Gelang Patah exit. Instead we used the PTP exit, although its much shorter (Nor Forgetting Fun Too). Not all of use are familiar with the road. So when such cases happens, we tend to be disoriented by which road are we suppose to go and what's the plan? Lucky I asks the team to go ahead, or else we would have taken a longer time reaching Pendas.

Initiative is also one of the most important habit that we must adapt to because sometimes, shit happens, and we need to make a decision. Such as my decision to asks the team to move forward when we entered PTP Exit instead of Gelang Patah Exit. Than we try our best to look for signs directing us to Pendas, Gelang Patah. Thank God we did find it and straight away headed to Pendas, than we stopped in one of the area in Pendas since its rather to go there first than to wait for other's to let you know. Soon we made a call to Art or Ecik and recomfirm the location and asks for any visible landmarks. So that we can locate them easily. Quite tiring ya? But its actually more fun. Twisted Evil

Anyway, I tend to treat motorcycling like being a soldier. We need to have discipline we all get injured once in a while just like a soldier during warfare. Than we have team mates whom we call them brothers and of course camarederie whenever one of use needs help. Plus that all soldiers are to be thought to know how to navigate and learn the environment around him cause if there's anything happen, he would have a clear view of what's going on. Which he can make fast decision and of course a solid decision. No agak-agak. That's what I'm being doing all along when I ride with you guys, focus 110%. Sleep

I agreed with Ecik's opinion. I don't really like it when the marshal stop/ direct other motorist to give way to us the bikers convoy. It can tarnish bikers image.

To me the best is to plan our route and decide our next stop. Everyone must get together at the same place.

This Saturday ehh,, I,ll see if I,m OK to go out that early since I,ll be alone with my princess (my wife leave for work at 6:45). We usually have breakfast together.

Sunday sould be fine for me. 4:30 morning also possible. Shocked

- totally agree with this.

- mungkin pasal banyak "skill level" , better to just tetapkan
rest/stop/destination/route points , and leave everyone to
do their own thing.

- cheers.

.

- Saturday Morning ride ? - boleh , nak ke Pendas or to
Waterfalls ?

- thanks.
